On Classification of Modular Tensor Categories

چکیده
We classify all unitary modular tensor categories (UMTCs) of rank ≤ 4. There are a total of 35 UMTCs of rank ≤ 4 up to ribbon tensor equivalence. Since the distinction between the modular S-matrix S and −S has both topological and physical significance, so in our convention there are a total of 70 UMTCs of rank ≤ 4. In particular, there are two trivial UMTCs with S = (±1). Each such UMTC can be obtained from 10 non-trivial prime UMTCs by direct product, and some symmetry operations. Explicit data of the 10 non-trivial prime UMTCs are given in Section 5. Relevance of UMTCs to topological quantum computation and various conjectures are given in Section 6.

Tensor categories and the mathematics of rational and logarithmic conformal field theory
We review the construction of braided tensor categories and modular tensor categories from representations of vertex operator algebras, which correspond to chiral algebras in physics. The extensive and general theory underlying this construction also establishes the operator product expansion for intertwining operators, which correspond to chiral vertex operators, and more generally, it establi...
متن کاملTannaka–Krěın reconstruction and a characterization of modular tensor categories
We show that every modular category is equivalent as an additive ribbon category to the category of finite-dimensional comodules of a Weak Hopf Algebra. This Weak Hopf Algebra is finite-dimensional, split cosemisimple, weakly cofactorizable, coribbon and has trivially intersecting base algebras. In order to arrive at this characterization of modular categories, we develop a generalization of Ta...
متن کاملCoribbon Hopf (face) Algebras Generated by Lattice Models
By studying “points of the underlying quantum groups”of coquasitriangular Hopf (face) algebras, we construct ribbon categories for each lattice models without spectral parameter of both vertex and face type. Also, we give a classification of the braiding and the ribbon structure on quantized classical groups and modular tensor categories closely related to quantum SU(N)Linvariants of 3-manifolds.
متن کاملFrom Quantum Groups to Unitary Modular Tensor Categories
Modular tensor categories are generalizations of the representation theory of quantum groups at roots of unity axiomatizing the properties necessary to produce 3-dimensional TQFT and invariants of 3-manifolds. Although other constructions have since been found, quantum groups remain the most prolific source. Recently proposed applications to quantum computing have provided an impetus to underst...
متن کاملOn an Inner Product in Modular Tensor Categories
In this paper we study some properties of tensor categories that arise in 2dimensional conformal and 3-dimensional topological quantum field theory—socalled modular tensor categories. By definition, these categories are braided tensor categories with duality which are semisimple, have a finite number of simple objects and satisfy some non-degeneracy condition. Our main example of such a categor...
